Burns Memorial Park is a little known piece of conservation land located between residential neighborhoods in Hingham, MA.
The only access is a narrow right-of-way between two residential properties on Hersey Street. Once behind the properties, a large sign identifies the Park. At that point, the trail appears to go nowhere. Residents have dumped their grass clippings and other green refuse in the area; a little detour is necessary to re-acquire the original trail (see waypoint)
The old roadway continues downhill to a bridge over a brook. Beyond this, the area was apparently used as a dump. There are mounds of coal ash, and various old bottles and rusted porcelain pots. In this poor soil, the poison ivy does quite well. the cache is hidden in a clean area.
