Geocache Description:

Choose Your Own Adventure: First to Find! This is a unique multi-cache in that there are many ways to get to the final, but even more ways to fail. Will you be the First to Find or just another smiley in the book, only you can decide!

This is an interesting adaptation of a multi-cache that pays homage to the Choose Your Own Adventure books I used to love as a kid. Some stages will present you with 2 or more options on how to proceed, with each answer leading you to a different location. Those new locations may very well present you with more options, or you may find your choice has led you to a dead end! It is your choice which way to proceed and whether to give up or not when you fail. (but we all know that in a quest to find the elusive final cache defeat is rarely an option!) Remember that attention to detail is important, so read each stage carefully, and know that there are multiple ways to reach the final cache!

Most of the stages of this multi are black/dark brown light switch wallplates that are magnetically attached to lightpoles, and are about 7 feet off the ground. The final is a small Lock-n-Lock with room for trade items. Directions to the final can be found on the last cache in the CYOA series, and all of the caches are well within walking distance of each other. I would recommend this cache at night, as the area it is placed is thick with muggles during the daylight hours. I placed and tested it at 3 a.m. and there was nary a soul to be found, but anytime after dusk should be good. Regardless of when you attempt it, PLEASE use stealth when retrieving and replacing each stage and be sure to replace the caches EXACTLY as you found them. In the winter snow is plowed around these poles rather high so try to keep them ~ 7 feet off the ground.

IMPORTANT:
This cache series takes place entirely within 40 48.XXX and 077 54.YYY. When you find coordinates on a wall plate it will be in the form XXX, YYY.

This multi-cache will take somewhere between 6 and 10 stages to complete, with a total distance walked of about a mile. Of course, you may end up making all the wrong choices and ending up at dead ends, so your hunt may be longer. It may be tempting to cheat and just search for wallplates but I strongly discourage you from doing so, because where's the fun in that? To add to the intrigue, several of the 'failure' endings have guest appearances from members of the State College caching community and you may very well find your own name on an ending! When signing the log please comment if you found yourself or not; I've been told that as many as 13 other cachers were on the hunt with you!

The FTF prize is a $5 gift card to WeggyWorld, and the cache container also has a fresh new set of AA batteries and a few bottlecap caches inside complete with logs.
