Geocache Description:

Beautiful Lewis Creek park has much to offer: wooded trails, a wetland, ball fields, a playground, meadows, and an amazing environmental educational center which is staffed Wednesday through Sunday from 10am - 4pm. This cache is located up a steep footpath, where cows used to graze when the park was a small family dairy farm.

Our young Girl Scout troop has been studying map and compass, and learning about GPS and wayfinding. This is their first hide and they are very excited to visit it when they come to this wonderful park, and restock it with Scouting items.

The cache is a plastic container, located under a tree not far from the footpath. (Some bushwhacking required during summer months when the grass is tall). Watch for slugs, and the occasional thistle or nettle sprouting. Having a walking stick to probe the underbrush or hold back branches might be handy. Please cover the cache with leaves / grass again when you leave.
