Geocache Description:

They missed it by 90m.

Cache is located near a new road sign on Highway 44 in Lockport that proclaims it to be the Historic No. 1 Highway, when in fact Highway 44 wasn't built until 1946 when the Lockport Bridge was straightened out.

Prior to 1946, the Lockport Bridge used to have a 90 degree turn at River Road that took you down off of the bridge in front of Skinner's and then you traveled up Stevens Avenue to Highway 9. That was the original route of the No. 1 Highway through Lockport.
