Geocache Description:

In honor of 10 Years of Geocaching we put together this special cache to commemorate the original stash hidden on May 3, 2000 by Dave Ulmer near Beaver Creek in northern Oregon. This cache, much like the original, is hidden in the bushes just off Beaver Creek Road (aka FS Road 20), but in southern Oregon.

After researching Geocaching History we learned the first stash was a black, 5-gallon bucket containing the following swag:

1 can Blackeye Peas
Ross Perot book
Cassette Recorder
2 Delorme CD Roms
George of Jungle VHS Tape
4 Dollar Bills
Delorme Topo USA software
Slingshot Handle
GPS Stash #1 Log Book

We have added a few more trade items in hopes that the original swag will be left for everyone to enjoy. In the beginning the rules were simple, and still apply today: Take Something... Leave Something. Log What You Take... Log What You Leave.

There is more than one way to access the cache, but the easiest way is from the uphill side. Minor bushwhacking is required. Yes, there is poison oak in the area too!
