This is the eigth cache in a series of 12 "Cache to Eagle" hides in Burke County dedicated to Boy Scout Eagle projects...
2010 is the 100th anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America. As part of the celebration, BSA has set a goal to place 12 caches, (one for each point of the Scout Law), in every district and in every council in the country. Burke County is in the Tablerock District of the Piedmont Council. Eagle Scout is the highest rank in Boy Scouting. In addition to earning 21 merit badges, being an active and loyal member of his troop and participating in many hours of service work, the scout must demonstrate leadership in planning and bringing to completion a project that will benefit his community, school, church, etc.
**about the project...…
Over the summer of 2008 scouts from Troop 184 dedicated many hours of labor to design and renovate a small garden on the side lawn of the Burke County Public Library. Work included repair of the brick planter, installation of plants, excavation and installation of paving stones.
***Now, about the cache...…
You are looking for a standard-sized bison tube container hidden very near the project site. You shouldn't need to look long. However, if you get frustrated, just have a seat on one of the two benches and admire the project. I'm sure it will come to you ;-) You will also need your own pencil. Please, watch for muggles and be careful not to loose the container or the logsheet!
ENJOY!!!
