Brainiac

The published coordinates are bogus (it is a nice place to park your car). This is my first own cache, located close to where I live. After having found my 150th cache I thought it was about time to make one myself. I appreciate every comment and suggestion for improvement.

To find this cache you will need to take a short walk along a pleasant trail through the forest. The cache is a hard plastic box. It originally contains several items, including a travel bug. Please ensure it is well hidden when you leave, and look out for muggles!

The Brain Teasers

To find the cache you have to solve the next two puzzles:

Three car addicts have just returned from the car show in Amsterdam
where they each purchased a supercar in a certain color. Can you work
out which car each person bought, in what color and how much each car costs, $500.000, $600.000, $800.000?

  1. Peter didn't buy the cheapest car and it wasn't a Porsche.
  2. The red car was a Bugatti and was cheaper than the one bought by Stefan.
  3. Marco didn't buy a green car.
  4. The most expensive car had the color silver, but wasn't a Ferrari.

Person Color Manufacturer Price
      $500.000
      $600.000
      $800.000

A part of the coordinates to the cache can be found by substituting the first digit of the corresponding price (i.e. 5, 6 or 8) to the letter of each event below:

  • A = Bugatti's price
  • B = Peter's car price
  • C = Silver car price
  • D = Marco's car price

A block of wood in the form of a rectangular cuboid 5cm x 11cm x 19cm has all its six faces painted blue. If the wooden block is cut into 1045 cubes of 1cm x 1cm x 1cm, how many of these would have blue paint on them?

Answer: EFG

N 51° 4A.BCD’ - E 006° 06.EFG’

Keep the following in mind
