Join us for the launch of the Gems of Rockbridge Geocaching Trail, which celebrates the relationship of the gateway communities in our area with the Blue Ridge Parkway and its 75th Anniversary.

www.blueridgegeocaching.com

The Gems of Rockbridge Geocaching Trail is being developed as part of an Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) grant to enhance the gateway communities along the 469-mile Blue Ridge Parkway. The grant funds projects that promote sustainable tourism and enhance the local community while protecting the area's natural beauty and cultural heritage.

The Trail consists of 10 strategically placed caches, which highlight the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the Rockbridge County area, and are hidden throughout the region in the foothills of the Blue Ridge. Passports will be available at both the Lexington and Buena Vista Visitors Centers. The first 200 cachers who find the hidden caches will receive a commemorative coin, featuring the Gems of Rockbridge Geocache Trail logo on one side and the 75th Anniversary of the Blue Ridge Parkway logo on the other side. Check out the website for complete info.

The festivities start at 10:00 a.m. at the Buena Vista Regional Visitor Center on Route 60. This is a rain or shine event. There will be music, refreshments, and fun for everyone! Seasoned geocachers will be on hand to show you the ropes. It’s easy to learn! If you don’t have a GPSr, a few will be available for demonstration.

Come and enjoy the adventure! www.blueridgegeocaching.com
