A well marked trail heads up the hill past a trench filled with an old mechanism. I've seen similar setups like this before and I think this is where target setters would safely sit while marksmen fired at the targets raised by the mechanism. The firing range is currently located on Thomaston Ave next to the DMV
When placing this cache, I saw several beaver in the water and on the banks. They would slap their tails against the water to warn others that I was near. The cache location offers nice views of at least two beaver lodges. Beware of fisherman type muggles.
