This is the second in a series of "heritage" Creve Coeur caches. In 2003 the Tappmeyer House was moved from nearby to Millennium Park. The homestead included 3 barns and 15 out buildings and was home to 4 generations of the Tappmeyer family.
The coordinates take you to the front of the structure. To locate the final use the coordinates:
N 38* 40.ABC W 090* 27.DEF where
A = the first digit on the historical sign in front of the structure
B=the number of shutters on the front of the structure minus 1
C= the number of free standing columns on the front porch of the structure
D=the number of chimneys on the house (it's an even number) times 2
E=the sum of the digits on the historical sign (see "A") minus 10
F=the number of steps(risers) on the front porch minus 5
The new final is just off the paved path so bushwacking is minimal. No need to cross the creek!
