Geocache Description:

This cache is placed at Drumskinny Stone circle between Kesh and Castlederg. There is a rough path to within 20 feet of the cache, but then it will be mown grass.

The cache is a small lunchbox placed just outside the grounds of Drumskinny Stone Circle, but reachable from within the grounds.

Drumskinny comes from the Irisk Droim Scine, which means knife ridge. At this megalithic site there is a stone circle, cairn and alignment, built around 2000BC. The area is well maintained but sadly seldom visited. Some stones have had to be replaced, these have MOF (Ministry of Finance) carved on them. On the road from Kesh on the right opposite the church at Montaighroe you will see also three standing stones.

Excavations have found some small items, but no evidence of burial.

I have recently been informed of a local superstition. I was told to remove anything metallic eg phone, watch etc, and to sit crosslegged in the centre of the circle, in silence, and try to clear my mind and relax. See if you can sense or feel anything in the background. I tried it, and did sense something...............
