Geocache Description:

A short multi to break up the trip to Port Augusta and highlight some history along the way. At the starting coordinates you will find a stone with information to help with the multi, when I first spotted this location to start a multi here there was a brass plaque as well giving some interesting information on the church that was built here. However some scoundrel decided that the plaque would be better suited as cashed in scrap metal with the proceeds going in his pockets.

After quite a bit of research I could not come up with any solid conclusive history on this site except that there was once a church here circa 1878.

Until now....................................................

After quite a long wait (about three and a half years ) a brand new plaque has finally been placed back where the stolen one was originally placed, hopefullly this one will not go missing as its been made from granite and not brass.

Oh! and I can finally tell you that the memorial is in memory of those who worshiped in the Baroota ans Manbray Creek Churches.

To do this multi you will need to get some information from the new plaque

To find this cache you will need to find the line on the plaque with no letters in it.

Then align the numbers in the following order; the first digit = A, the second digit = B, the third digit = C and so on.....

You will locate the final cache at

  • S 32° 55.(H-E)(D)(B-H)
  • E 137° 58.(B)(C)(A+D+E)
