Geocache Description:

Look out for artwork and sculptures along the way, this area is undergoing great changes and soon you will be able to join the cycle track in Yate taking you to Bath or Bristol.
Parking nearby for two vehicles or why not cycle?!

In 2006, Charley Boorman, Simon Pavey and Matt Hall formed the team Race to Dakar.

This gruelling race took them from Portugal to Dakar, with all the perils this entails.

Simon went on to complete the race, unfortunately for Charley, he had a fall and broke both hands on stage 5, and Matt retired through exhaustion.

You may have seen the tv series made to document the race, if you have, you'll know the very difficult circumstances competitors have to cope with, the lack of sleep, the physical endurance and the mental strain...
