This is my first hidden cache and it is in honor of my grandfather. My grandfather moved to Mountain View in the 1940's from San Francisco and had an orchard on a couple of acres of land. Along with his vegetable garden he had a wide variety of trees that he cared for. The range was diverse from Fig Trees, Plum, Pomegranate, Persimmon, Almond, Apple, Apricot, Loquat, Cherry and more. He used to dry the fruits and nuts on wooden racks in the sun and did a lot canning of fruits with my grandmother. I remember sitting in the trees and eating the fruits or just climbing them for fun or to retrieve a kite. We used to ride on the tractor as my grandfather plowed the orchard. Good memories and missed days!!
