Venerable Trees Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

todpike: I went down to the cache site to look and see if the container was stuck down in it's hiding place. Looks like it's gone missing - not sure if it got carried off by a critter (again) or a person. Since it's been down there almost 4 years now, and there really isn't a good place to hide a larger container (which is really what should be down there), I'm going to archive this one. I'll scout around down on the floodplain and see if there is a better spot for a cache down here. Thanks to everyone who found this cache over the years!

Geocache Description:

A small cache placed on the floodplain in Boyce-Mayview park. A trail leads down to this area, and a short bushwhack will lead you to ground zero.

The floodplain in Boyce-Mayview park is filled with old, large trees. In particular, there are some enormous Sycamore trees that grow near the stream. There are also some Ohio Buckeye trees that were blooming at the time the cache was placed.

Although the Beech Valley trail leads you down to this area, you'll have to turn off the trail to the floodplain.

The cache is a small waterproof plastic container.
