Geocache Description:

The cache is hidden along the CCRT. There is a parking area near GZ. Depending on how good you are with picking off clues this could be a quick P&G for you.

.

While on a recent visit to spend time with relatives and enjoy some caching, we stopped at a favorite place. It is a convenient location in the area to rest along the Cape Cod Rail Trail (CCRT). If you are not aware of it, the trail is an excellent way to enjoy hiking or biking to see beautiful sights of the Cape that may go unnoticed riding in a car.

The title "A Connecticut Yankee" is very apropos to this relatively new sport or hobby called geocaching. You can Google the cache name for more facts. Briefly it was a book written by Mark Twain (from CT as are we) which was made into a musical and a movie. Do not worry; our niece "Hannahcupcake" who we recently got addicted to geocaching will be maintaining this cache for us.

Off Rt. 137, there is a parking area for rail trail access at this location, as well as a map of the CCRT, and a nice seating area with a couple of stone benches. If you sit on the benches take pleasure in spending leisure time watching life pass by. Should you look in the right direction you can see a sign of the cache, but I would not go running because it is not there.

The container is not camo’d, but we chose a color that would not be easily spotted. We checked the coordinates with two GPSrs; one indicated it was 10 ft. accurate and the other 12 ft. You will require a writing instrument and tweezers may be required to retrieve the log scroll. Be careful not to lose the plastic wrapper keeping the log tight. Please refrain from placing other items inside. DO NOT pull the container apart as you will damage it. Just twist the two parts and the hole will open. Replace the container so that the Geocache sticker is facing away from you in the same exact way you found it. Watch out for muggles, this can be a very busy area especially in the summer.

Hope you have enough to locate our cache and spend time enjoying or using the trail.
