Cache is only a few hundred feet from historic Chamounix Mansion (An 80 bed youth hostel in Fairmount Park), as well as Mc Carty stables. This is a section of Fairmount park that most “locals” know nothing about.
Chamounix Mansion offers a welcoming front porch and two communal rooms restored to 1850 and furnished with antiques. A marble fireplace graces the 19th-Century parlor and a wonderful mural of the historic Water Works on the Schuylkill River can be found in the main hallway.
McCarthy Stables is a boarding stable also known for its “Work to Ride” program that offers low income, inner city kids the chance to interact with and ride horses. This innovative program has been featured in Sports Illustrated and on HBO Real Sports: (visit link)
Cache is large Camoed Coffeee Can. It is hidden in an obvious place and should be easy for most cachers to find after a short walk in the woods. The large Geopile is necessary to keep it hidden from muggles. Please cover well when returning it. This should be a great TB location, especially for those using the Hostel.
