Geocache Description:

An altered regular size cache. It started with a dive octopus, toy car, whistle, tea lights, TB, log and pencil. Unfasten the cache to open. Line up black lines to close.

This cache series was originally intended for the Goose Pond trail. However, poor road conditions caused the goose to relocate to Gull Pond. The Gull Pond trailhead is located on East Shore Rd. on the east side of Schroon Lake. There is parking at the trailhead. It's a beautiful trail to and around the pond.
Here's another series from Paradox Grandma. I've been observing the geese floating by and thought it would be fun to do a goose cache series. The two most common geese in our area are the Canada goose and the Snow goose. They are large waterfowl with long necks. The male and female look alike in all seasons. they are more terrestrial than ducks and feed mainly on land. The Canada goose has a black head with a white "chinstrap" and brownish plummage. It breeds in Canada and the northern US. The nest is usually in an elevated area near water. The eggs are laid in a shallow depression lined with plant material. The female lays 3-8 eggs and both parents protect the nest. They mate for life.
