This cache is easily located along a rather uneven footpath. The footpath eventually leads into East Harling Common, but that is flooded even in dry weather, so you can only go so far. This cache is placed on the way to there, on the public footpath. East Harling is a significant place for me in Norfolk, so I chose here to leave my cache.
East Harling is a village in the English county of Norfolk. The village forms the principal settlement in the civil parish of Harling, and is located some 8 miles (13 km) east of the town of Thetford and 25 miles (40 km) south-west of the city of Norwich.[1]
The village is served by Harling Road railway station, which is situated 2 miles (3 km) to the north.
From 1808 to 1814 East Harling hosted a station in the shutter telegraph chain which connected the Admiralty in London to its naval ships in the port of Great Yarmouth.
Today, East Harling is home to a distillery-who-shall-not-be-named, the only single malt whisky distillery in England. Next door to that is a place that sells fish-who-shall-not-be-named, which is the best pet shop EVER - it has crocodiles!!!
The cache was placed due to once happy memories spent here. The cache is a small clippable sandwich box. Original contents are one Geocoin and one TravelBug, notebook, Monopoly hotel, magic pebble, picture and song lyrics. Please do not remove the picture and the song lyrics, but have a good read of them.
