Calgary Parks 100 Project

Calgary Area Cachers teaming up with The City of Calgary Parks

Celebrating Calgary Parks 100th Anniversary!

Tufa is a rock formed by the precipitation of carbonate minerals from ambient temperature water. These formations are exposed in the waterfalls nearby the cache. Just west of the cache are active springs which expose and flow over the tufa formations. These recent deposits are unique in Calgary and are one of the special aspects of the park. These features are very sensitive to disturbance and have the potential to provide shelter for rare plants. An interpretive boardwalk follows the waterwall valley giving a scenic and educational walk.

The Calgary Parks 100 Project is a partnership between the City of Calgary Parks, and the Calgary Area Cachers to celebrate Calgary Parks 100th anniversary. Calgary Parks has supplied cache containers and swag for 100 caches, and the we have placed these 100 caches in 100 parks around Calgary. These caches have some cool swag and trackables when placed, so make sure to find them as soon as they are published.

Please walk down the boardwalk and then along the river and approach the cache from the river. Do not try and approach directly from the north.
