For months we've passed the Progress Energy trail overpass when traveling on US-19. We'd been curious about what it is and where it goes. A few weeks ago we decided to check it out and learned that it's a great place to put a cache!
Right now the Progress Energy Trail it is sort of a “bridge to nowhere” but over time it's supposed to be made into a 70-mile bicycle trail that follows power lines south to Weedon Island and will link to the Pinellas Trail extension north around Keystone Rd.
You will be looking for a small (about 4x6) container placed in an area that is near the current “end” of this trail. Very little or no bushwacking required.
To start this cache off, we are launching our team's first ever Travel Bug "Bring it Back" and will also place a coin.
