Another cache on Dryden's "Nature in the City Trail", this time on
the west side of the city. The cache is located near the end of
Third Street where there used to be a bridge for vehicles to the
other side of the river. (Regardless of what Google/Geocaching maps
show, Third street is now a dead end road.) When the new road was
put in, with a new bridge nearby, this bridge was closed to vehicle
traffic, but was open to snowmobiles and was part of the Snomobile
Club's Town Loop. The bridge then became too unsafe for snowmobiles
and was totally removed. The cache container is a small camoed
play-doh container that can hold some small items. Bring your own
writing stick. Original contents are: - logbook and small pencil -
small sew-on Canadian flag - a keychain - three of the hockey logo
beer caps Bud Light recently had out If you're up for a walk on the
trail, you can start on the Dryden Signature Trail in Johnston Park
(across from the Dairy Queen) OR for a short walk enter the trail
by parking at MGM Electric on Marguerite Street (behind Dingwall
Ford). If you want to do a park and grab, just drive down to the
end of third street and park there. Please make sure the lid is
snapped on tight and the container is put back properly into it's
holder after your find. Sorry, no FTF prize.
