Geocache Description:

Renewed 26/6/21 small 1L plastic box hidden at top of Creech Barrow Hill with great views out over the Purbecks, Poole Harbour and tank training grounds. Short walk on narrow path from lay-by( N50 38.342, W002 06.742) or enjoy the nearby ridge walk and detour to this cache. Path not suitable for buggies but if taken slowly manageable by toddlers but ferns may be challenging. Enjoy but please re-hide cache carefully.

The cache is a small 0.5L plastic box conataining a log book and some small gifts. When set there was a Brownie Centenary bear(travel bug HQ6KX1) left on behalf of Dorset Girlguiding. We would like to see our bear travel around Britain. This spot is one of the highest hills locally and has great views of Poole Harbour and Brownsea Island to the NE, Corfe Castle to the SE, the Purbeck Hills to the south and the tank ranges to the West. There is seating for a picnic but it can be a little breezy. The path is narrow, winding through ferns in the summer but quite sandy underfoot apart from first 70m which can get muddy. It is too narrow and uneven for a buggy but taken slowly it is a fun walk for young children with room to run around at the top.If this cache is combined with 'Grange Arch' on the ridge to the south the whole round walk will take 90 - 120mins. This cache has been located with permission of the land owner Imerys Minerals Ltd, who have mined clay in this area for years.
