What a great timing! I had just finished planning my business trip to California when I learned that Geokashers will complete his 25th year working for our company exactly in the week of my visit. So I quickly decided that I should place this cache for that special occasion - if I would be able to find a spot that isn't already saturated with caches.
I have to admit that I am partly guilty of Geokashers' addiction to this sport, since another colleague and friend of mine introduced both of us to Geocaching a couple of years ago. It took quite some time until I really got into this hobby, by then Geokashers already had found his 1,000th cache. Since then he keeps surprising both me and our caching teacher 'Radler' with an incredible number of cache finds, especially FTFs.
This should be an easy find. The cache is located in Calero county park at the intersection of Pena trail, Figueroa trail, and Javelina loop. You have the choice of 1.4 hilly miles along Pena trail or 2.2 almost flat miles along Figueroa trail (one way). The container is hidden only a few feet off the trail. It's a small lock&lock container holding a log book and a few trade items (e.g. toys from the 'Kinder Ueberraschungsei'). The first person to find this cache (which I hope will be Geokashers) will be awarded with an unregistered Geocoin.
Please note: When you put the container back, please put it in upside down (the lid to the bottom), then it fits in easier and deeper. Please make sure to put enough camouflage back on, so that it cannot be spotted by muggles too easily.
The cache container was moved from its original location on 2011/01/22. So if you got your coordinates before that day, you are now looking in the wrong place.
