This cache is located near to the site of an old Roman Road. Not too sure if there is a 2nd Staffordshire Hoard here though!!! For the SF SERIES of geocaches- geocacher’s are known as “YANKEES” and muggles known as “X RAYS”.
The word "Sniper" apparently derives from the name of a person who was an expert shot and use to shoot the Snipe bird. The location of this cache affords geocachers with good scenic views and historically a view of an old Roman Road. You won't believe me when I say, sometimes in summer the track imprints on the Roman Road where the carts once travelled can be seen. I like to dream at this point about what the countryside would have looked like in Roman times. Enjoy.
