Royal Oak: As the owner has not responded to my previous log requesting that they check this cache I am archiving it. It is not normal to unarchive a cache, which has been archived due to a lack of maintenance.

Geocache Description:

Micro cache hidden on footpath accross the Gowy Meadow. Terrain is a grassed footpath over a wetland area. No need for climbing or scrambling anywhere that looks difficult, can actually be accessed from footpath.

Tilly Mints consist Tilly, Zack, Kimmy and John. Tilly's Trail is a set of caches hidden on one of Tilly's favourite walks.

This Tilly's Trail is set on a footpath between Thornton Le Moors and Stoak, crosses the Gowy Meadow Nature Reserve home to lots of wildlife including otters.

Details of Gowy Meadow Wild Life Reserve can be found here:
(visit link)

The trail is about 1.5 miles long (please note it is not circular) and consists of three caches hidden along the old footpath. As this trail is accross marsh land, even though the footpath is slightly elevated it can get very wet and muddy at times, and unless your attemtping this in the height of summer, wellies would be a good idea :)

We suggest that you start at Thornton Le Moors, there is a small car park next to the church. This enables you to stop half way through your journey at the Bunbury Arms in Stoak before turning back to Thornton Le Moors. Or park at Stoak and have light refreshments upon returning if you so wish!

There are three others caches in close proximity to Tilly's Trail and make an ideal opportunity to bag 6 caches in one pleasant stroll. The other caches are:

GCXCE2 Heavenly Hides #2
GCZHYK Canalside Trail - Bridge 138
GCXCE3 Heavenly Hides # 3

All caches have log books and pencils. I hope you enjoy the walk as much as we do.
