Geocache Description:

Behind Silkwood Ridge estate. Extremely steep but can be done in 2 hours or less.

Head up to the back of Silkwood Ridge estate. You can park your car on a nearby street or drive up to the water reservoir and park there. Follow the track behind the reservoir.

It's a short, but extremely steep walk. You will most likely have to get on all fours in some parts on the way up, and you WILL end up sliding down in some parts. It's probably the single most contiguous steep walk I've done.

You will eventually come to an open, grassy clearing. The cache is in the most obvious spot and provides views out over Trinity Inlet and south to Gordonvale.

The track continues on past the cache spot, up and over the ridge but it continuously gets harder to follow. You will be rewarded with brief glimpses of Lake Morris.

Will take around 2 hours return if you are fit. Perhaps take some tape. On a previous climb, we lost the track on the way down and ended up sliding down near vertical faces using trees to arrest our fall.

You maybe able to get a dirt bike/mountain bike to about the halfway mark. This will make it easier on the knees on the way down.

Cache is a Tupperware container, double bagged to help waterproof. Contains a Ren and Stimpy card, earring, log and pencil.
