Old McDuckald had a duck ... Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

softball29: Though this has been a good cache, I'm trimming down my owned caches and trying to keep them closer to me to maintain. This was a good lock-and-lock, wet inside and kind of trashy, so it was time to let it go.

Thanks to all who found it!

Geocache Description:

Did you ever notice how many ducks are in our area?

Not just regular ducks, either.

There are Devil Duckies.

And a Team-Ducky (note the hyphen!)

Duck, duck, duck. It's like a duck farm in these parts. Old McDuckald, indeed!

Holy duck!

Where should we go with this? There are duck hunters and duck snatchers. There are FTF ducks and pirate ducks. Heck, there are personal ducks, flying ducks, sports ducks, people ducks and too many ducks to count. Don't even mention the duck snarfers!

Get all that?

Well, now there's a mystery/puzzle duck. I know, I know. Somewhere at least one of the ducks is probably quacking "What the duck?"

Take that!

Try to be stealthy with this cache and don’t let too many loud quacks out when you find it as we don’t want other species to come and find this and ruin this duck spot. You might be able to see some ducks nearby (well, at least some geese!)

So how about the puzzle? I’ve snarfed some photos to use. What you have to do is now go and find out some information about these ducks! Once you figure it out, use the numbers to get your coordinates and go get the cache!

First, to find the information you need to solve this puzzle, you must visit the cache page of Team-Ducky to see all of their homemade ducks. (I've also incorporated some things from the Devil Duckies, too, as you'll soon see...)

The blog can be seen at: Team-Ducky

From there, you'll have to find these certain ducks to find the information, such as the duck's number, name and things like that. (note, some of these ducks you might have to put 2+2 together to realize what they are, as not all ducks are pictured on the website, but all are logged on there with the information you need):

Look at the duck, find out what you need and go to the page and find it. This shouldn't be too hard.

Duck 1

How many words are in the name of this duck? This is A.

Duck 2

Add total of this duck’s number, and subtract No. 1 answer. This is B.

Duck 3

Find what number this duck is, add the digits together and subtract 5. This is C.

Duck 4

The first number of what duck this is. This is D.

Duck 5

The first number of this duck, minus 1. This is E.

Duck 6

Find what number this duck is. Then add the middle number of the 10th duck listed here. Then subtract 100. This is F.

Duck 7

The middle number of what this duck is. This is G.

Duck 8

What number is this duck? This is H.

Duck 9

Find which number this duck is and add the two digits together. From there, subtract 7. This is I.

Duck 10

Find the name of this duck and add the total letters of the first three words. That is J.

The final cache location is at:

N 42° AB.CDE W 075° FG.HIJ

NOTE ABOUT THE CACHE: It is not listed at the posted coordinates. Rather, it’s in a city park. Please don’t search for this at night. Posted hours for the park are 7 a.m.-10:30 p.m. City police go through the park regularly, so please don’t search outside of those hours.

You can check your answers for this puzzle on Geochecker.com.

The final geocache is a regular-sized lock-and-lock container. There is a FTF prize -- a personal tag. Please sign the log and replace as found. Watch for muggles, especially in the summer!

Enjoy!
