Szombathely. MAGYAR: Egy kis láda a szombathelyi
Felszabadulási Emlékmunél DEUTCH: Klein cache an der

ENGLISH
The Memorial of Szombathely was built in 1969 in remembrance of
Hungary's "liberation" by the soviets in 1945. It served as an
emblem of the city for a long time. After the change of the
political system in 1989, the communist symbols were all removed,
but the memorial itself remained.
You can enjoy a wonderful lookout to the city from here.
At winter the hill of the memorial serves as a sledge field. The
hillside is covered by artificially made snow, if the temperature
is low enough and there aren't enough normal snow.
MAGYAR
A szombathelyi Felszabadítási Emlékmuvet 1969ben építették az
ország "felszabadításának" emlékére. Hosszú ideig a város egyik
jelképe volt. A rendszerváltás után leszedték róla az elozo
rendszer jelképeit.
A kilátótól csodálatos kilátás nyílik a városra, és ezért érdemes a
helyet felkeresni leginkább.
Télen a domboldal szánkópályaként funkcionál, ami kivilágítás miatt
sötétben is látogatható. Ha nincs elég természetes hó, de elég
hideg van hozzá a város által vásárolt hóágyúval oldják meg a
havasítást.

Das Freiheits-Denkmal wurde 1969 errichtet in Erinnerung an Ungarns
"Befreiung" durch die Sowjets im Jahre 1945. Lange Zeit diente es
als Wahrzeichen für die Stadt. Nach dem Wechsel des politischen
Systems im Jahre 1989 wurden alle kommunistischen Symbole entfernt,
das Denkmal selbst aber blieb erhalten.
Von hier können Sie eine wundervolle Aussicht über die ganze Stadt
genießen.
Im Winter dient der Hügel der Denkmals als Rodelpiste. Wenn die
Temperaturen niedrig genug sind und nicht ausreichend Schnee
vorhanden ist, wird mit Kunstschnee ergänzt.
