Questo cache ti porta a
visitare Pian Carpeneto nella Valle Stura. Qui si trova una piccola
e carina chiesetta: “il Santuario di S.Maria ai Monti”,
costruita grazie all'impegno di Don Wandro Pollarolo di Belforte
Monferrato.
Un’altra
particolarità di questo posto è che si dice che qui si possa ancora
trovare dell’oro nel torrente Stura. Mettiamo da parte la
Caccia all'oro, adesso è il momento in cui la capacità di ricerca
ed intuito del Geocacher vi aiuteranno a trovare questo "cache
d'oro".
Per arrivarci: prendere
l’uscita di Ovada dell'autostrada A26, alla seconda rotonda
oltre il ponte sul torrente Stura, invece di svoltare verso il
paese di Ovada, si gira a sinistra per la SS 456 del Turchino. Si
costeggia lo Stura per circa 3,5km (4 min.), dopodiché si trova un
cartello indicante "Santuario S.Maria dei monti" e si imbocca una
stradina sulla sinistra. Si può parcheggiare dopo un piccolo
ponticello che attraversa il fiume.
Dopo questo cache
consigliamo di continuare la strada SS 456 del Turchino per trovare
anche gli altri cache in zona.

This cache takes you to
Pian Carpeneto, a small village in the Stura valley. Here we find a
small and pretty church: “the Sanctuary of S.Maria ai
Monti”, which has been build thanks to Don Wandro Pollarolo
of Belforte Monferrato.
Another unique aspect of
this place is that people say there can still be found gold in the
Stura river. However, let’s set aside the search for gold,
now it is time to use your Geocaching search capacity to find this
“golden cache”.
How to arrive: On the
highway A26 take the exit “Ovada”. At the second
roundabout, at the other side of the bridge which crosses the Stura
river, instead of turning right to the village of Ovada, turn left
on the SS456 Turchino road. The road follows the Stura river for
about 3,5km (4 min.) after which you will find a sign indicating
“Santuario S.Maria dei Monti” and a little road on the
left which you take. You can park on the other side of the narrow
bridge which crosses the river.
After this cache we
recommend to continue the Turchino-road SS456 to also find the
other caches in this valley.
