Geocache Description:

The above co-ordinates are not where you will find the cache but the cache is in this neck of the woods.

Ralph was feeling a little wary. Twice within a week he had been tricked by Inspector Catchem to go off on police work under false pretences. The first time he had been asked to go on a “steak out” which turned out to be really boring just watching a house all day long and all he got was some dried dog food. Then a visit to a “chop shop” was a trip to a panel beaters with some nasty dogs who barked some very bad words when they saw Ralph. That time there was no food at all.

This morning Cupcake had said she was off to work because “somebody had to bring home the bacon” which he thought was a great idea but nonetheless he was setting himself up for disappointment again.

Just then Cupcake burst through the door. “Oh Ralph, you have to help me. I’m at my wits end”. Ralph overcame the letdown at seeing that she wasn’t carrying any form of food at all, let alone bacon. He sat up and listened as Cupcake explained.

“I was passing by the coffee shop when I saw the evil Tangoman deep in discussion with two of his henchmen. Two very hairy men”. Ralph had nothing against hair but they certainly sounded like a shady bunch.

“I heard them say something like seven seconds” said Cupcake. Ralph was dubious. The seven second rule was the canine corollary to the human five second rule. Dogs know that if food is dropped humans can pick it up within five seconds and eat it. Wait two seconds longer and not only does the dog get the food with a bigger dose of bacteria, he also gets called a Good Dog.

“As they were leaving Tangoman dropped this bit of paper. I am sure it’s important and it must be a clue as to where they have hidden something”. Ralph looked at the paper. It was a series of letters as follows:

abcdgbcbcfgbcfgabcdfgacdfg

It was a mystery to them both. That night Cupcake asked Ralph to sleep on the floor next to her bed in case the evil trio had realized they were missing the paper and had somehow followed her home. In the middle of the night Ralph woke up during a bad dream where the cat he was chasing turned into a tiger. He lay there and thought of their latest adventure. All of a sudden he saw the light. He knew what the secret code meant!

Next morning Cupcake woke to find a happy Ralph sitting wagging his tail. “Oh Ralph, you’ve worked it out.” she said smiling. "What a clever dog".

You too can earn a smiley if you can match wits with our canine hero.
