BYOP!!

Apple Delight is the name of the dessert our girl scout troop (Kindergarten through second graders) created for their very first camp day. Cooked in a foil lined Dutch oven, it was made with a biscuit crust and spiral cut apples, all doused generously with cinnamon sugar.

Camp Mira Sol has been a beautiful Girl Scout campground for many years. I remember attending when I was young, during my 11 years of scouting. Taking my own daughter and her troop there another 12 years later was a sweet experience.

My 5yo daughter and I stopped to place this cache on our way home from the Bandera Service Unit 2010 Camp Cookoff, with the knowledge of fellow troop leader Mrs. A. She did not join us, so she will have a chance to discover it with her own family.

Enjoy the beautiful town of Waring, and wave as you pass Camp Mira Sol!
