The Josias Byles Sanctuary is a 69 acre parcel donated to Joshua's Trust.  It was part of the original 226 acre Byles farm, bought by Josias Byles in 1726.  There is a P&G in the parking area and 6 caches along the yellow blazed trail approx 1.2 miles long, and a seventh on the white trail which goes north when the yellow trail goes west. Do them in 1-7-2-3-4-5-6 order to eliminate the need to bushwack.  The area is typically pretty quiet, be on the lookout for wildlife as you enjoy the serenity.  You will pass through a pine grove then through a stand of trees with (odd) shaggy bark. Then you will cross Byles Brook using stepping stones, then later on, over a wooden bridge.  As you finish up the yellow trail, you will pass by a massive multi-trunked pine tree.

You can open up a PDF of Byles Sanctuary by clicking this link.

Josias Byles Sanctuary is located on route 44, which can be very busy at times.  There is a small sign (see below) marking the turn in, look for the rather large sign for the NORTH Veterinarian Clinic directly across the road, it has a large pawprint and can be seen from a distance.
