You are all invited
to attend a canine caching event from 12 noon to approx 4pm at the
‘shed’ opposite the main car park.
On arrival you should register where you will be issued with a
canine caching pack with will include waste bags, dog treat and a
list & map of all caches, both GC.com and canine caches.
Special canine caches will be placed for the event and will only be
available during the event, these will be in areas between the
existing caches. These caches are dog themed and each will have a
logbook for the dogs to write their cache log (or a pawprint will
suffice!). As these caches are event boxes they will not be
loggable on GC.com. Sorry.
Some spot prizes and games will also be happening throughout the
afternoon, details will be provided on the day.
To keep the non-canine cachers amused there will also be a WILDLIFE
WANDER, details will be included in the welcome pack. We were
hoping for a hunt of the Perthshire haggis, as it is a most elusive
sub-species of the Haggii genus and finding examples of this
rare creature is a most fortuitous event, BUT we've been informed
that its is too close to the breeding season to disturb their
nesting sites.
But fear not, we have managed to obtain the special permissions
needed to hunt another native Kinnoull creature.
Refreshments will be available to purchase at the
‘shed’ throughout the event, these will be provided by
Giraffe Cafe, which is a community interest company dedicated to
offering employment activities to local people with mental
ill-health, disabilities and other disadvantages in the workplace.
As a not for profit social enterprise, Giraffe depends on an
enthusiastic team of volunteers who are bringing their skills and
expertise to this new business. This innovative company is
characterised by the use of trained volunteer Buddies who support
adults as they make the challenging transition into mainstream
employment settings.
We ask that the canine cachers return for a final gathering for
3pm, to participate in the FFB Sit&Stay Challenge. Any dog who
can sit&stay longer than FFB's dogs will receive a prize!
(owners are not allowed to secure the dogs in place, that would be
cheating!)
When logging your attendance it would be most helpful to know how
many canine cachers (and their names) are attending, as well as how
many human cachers.
The woofy caches and the wildlife wander points are listed as
waypoints on this site. Lists of these co-ords and maps will be
available on the day..

Please note: -
- The car park and the ‘shed’ are at opposite sides of
a road, please look before you cross.
- Cachers are responsible for the safety and conduct of both
themselves and their dogs at all times. Please be considerate of
others using the area.
- Water bowls will be provided at the car park/shed, as will
additional waste bags.
- Bins for dog waste will be provided at the car park/shed, please
be responsible cachers and bring any bags back for disposal. You
will be rewarded!
- Aggressive dogs and/or irresponsible dog owners will be asked to
leave the event (if necessary).
Thanks to Big Tree Country, the Perth & Kinross Countryside
Rangers and the Forestry Commission for all their help with the
organisation of this event.
