Geocache Description:

squirrel

Squirrels like to celebrate. After their feast some squirrels decided to go south and attend another event. And just like squirrels like to hide provisions the smallest of the squirrels did so too. It just can't stop it. Actually, this got worse after it started geocaching, but that's another story ... Well, as a matter of fact, it happens regularly that it does not find back the hidden stuff ... You guessed it, it had to happen this time aswell. Now it's your turn. Help the quirrel to find back it's hide. Luckily it still remembers some stuff...

The little squirrel says:
I'm glad that you will help me! This might help you:
Well, that's all I remember ... I hope this is enough so you may help me find it?

Aah, one more important thing: only the worthy will be able to claim a find ...

It continues:
To prove that you are worthy, you have to complete a little challenge. A special method to celebrate the 10 Years! of geocaching! Your task is to find and log a cache for each geocaching year, increasing by one the find number each year. Here obviously the hiding date counts! Well, I'm sure that's an easy task for you. Maybe you did it already? I wish you Good Luck!

You ask what all that does mean? Well, it's easy:
  • This is an challenge cache, you will have to complete the challenge in order to log.
  • The challenge is to find 1 cache hidden during the first geocaching year, 2 hidden during the 2nd geocaching year and so on till 10 caches hidden during the 10th geocaching year.
  • As you all know, geocaching started with the first hide on May 3rd, 2000, so the first geocaching year goes from May 3rd, 2000 till May 2nd, 2001, the 10th geocaching year goes from May 3rd 2009 till May 2nd 2010.
  • This means you will have to find 55 caches before this cache.
  • Old and new finds do count for the challenge (so you may already have completed the challenge not knowing ...)
  • Logs not completing this challenge will have to get deleted ...

How to show you did it? A few possibilities exist:
  • include references to the caches in your (online) log (prefered method) or
  • add a link to an evaluation of your stats (but be sure that they include a reference or link to the individual caches) or
  • contact me via the (geocaching) email to work something out (like send me your 'My finds' pocket query'

Obviously, premium members have it easiest to identify the needed caches with the pocket queries, especially with the 'My finds' pocket query and the various stats tools. Below I have included references to the closest (active!) caches hidden during the early years, you will have to figure out the caches about the other years.

An additional interresting (optional) request:
Make the logs fun and interesting to read, include the reason why you chose to put that cache on the list of caches to claim the challenge. Say, if you indentified 20 possible caches for some year, tell us (the geocaching community) why you chose those on the list. Possibilities are endless, use your imagination. Possibilities include for example 'nice hike', 'scenic view', 'very difficult to find', 'on vacation' .... Maybe you even create your complete list according a particular reason? Other geocachers enjoy to find out about nice geocaches and trips of other geocachers!
