Geocache Description:

Cache is a small magnetic camo container.

This cache is located at the remains of an old iron bridge that at one time spanned the Big Slough. Just south of this bridge are some pilings that were an old wooden bridge. Traffic now crosses on Hwy X just to the NE of the cache site.

Directly across Anacker Rd used to be the Menomonee House which was a tavern and a stagecoach stop in Lewiston TWP. The current building used to be the Anacker School and is now a private residence. There used to be a landing right near the old wooden bridge where locals would come and rent a boat for a days fishing on the Big Slough.

This old bridge site is a favorite fishing spot as are the old pilings. Don't seek the cache if someone is fishing. Also be careful of children as it is several feet down to the water and there are no railings.

The Big Slough is where Team Sloughfoot got their name and we also call it home now.
