To the north
you will find the Roman Nose State Park! Keep having fun on
the
Road Trip Route!
You will love
exploring the picturesque canyons nestled among scenic mesas of
Blaine County. Rock hop your way to the cache 28 and take advantage
of the spectacular photographic opportunities found there. Drive
back south towards rural farms and ranches and be rewarded with
awe-inspiring views of the slowly undulating landscapes all
around.

This is a
series of caches circling the center of Blaine County. Starting in
Hitchcock, Oklahoma off County Road E0720, you will travel west
along a paved road that will become a gravel road to County Road
N2550 , heading south becoming a paved road to state highway 51A,
turning east onto County Road E0770. Following to state highway 8
twisting back north towards Hitchcock,
Oklahoma.
Roman Nose
State Park is in the middle of entire route! Once a favorite area
of the Cheyenne tribe, this area is a scenic retreat set on a
canyon bluff that overlooks ancient mesas. Towering cedars, buffalo
grass, and wild blue sage add to the beauty of the legendary
setting. Pack a picnic lunch and take advantage of a great photo-op
in the park.

County Road E0720 is a forgotten backroad, some of these caches you
just stop on the road to find. The rest of the caches were placed
near or by either a driveway, a road shoulder or a turn-off
intersection. I wanted the run to be as safe and less muddy as
possible. So please look for these as your hunting the caches to
pull your geocar off the roads. Please do not cross any fences
while geocaching, there will be some no trespassing signs posted,
but all caches are not placed on other side fence.
Please bring your own writing stick to sign logs. When signing
logs, please sign only the date and your geoname to leave room for
future geocashers. Abusing logs will get your log deleted. Please
post on geocaching.com any fun stories, or how long it took you to
go cache to cache to completing the run. There are three types of
containers-pill bottles, small square lock-n-lock and rectangle
lock-n-lock. Travel bugs and coins can be traded in the small
containers.
Since they are placed in canyon area, please use caution! There are
wild animals in the area, several local farmers warned me of
snakes! I placed caches away from tall grassy areas, please scan
your surroundings. You will also find barbwire by many of the
locations, so please watch your children during the fun. To keep
the run going, please place caches back in same place as you found.
With so many caches on this route, will be hard to maintain, any
help will caches will be much appreciated.
Road Trip Route #37 and #58 are located by the entrances to the
Roman Nose State Park, if you need a restroom break or use the
picinic area. Head south from Route Trip Route #56 towards Watonga,
Oklahoma.
