Tree Avenue - 10th Birthday Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
On the 3rd May 2000 in response to the US government turning off the Selective Availability (SA) on the global positioning satellites the first Geocache was hidden by Dave Ulmer near Beaver Creek, Oregon. Within a few days this geocache was found several times and Geocaching was born.
To celebrate this event, between 31st April and 3rd May 2010, 100s of geocaching events were held across the world to celebrate the birth of Geocaching. This small series of caches was placed as part of the celebrations at the nearby Old Lock and Weir Inn, and has been deliberately made to be a family friendly series of small to regular caches for all to hopefully enjoy.
