Geocachers of the World, Unite! - East Berlin Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Krypton: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

This is a small container which only contains a log. It is a camo'ed Chapstick. When you find the cache please be sure to place it back the way you found it. Note: The coordinates may be off since we used our iPhone to find the coordinates which tend to be off at times. Let us know if they are wrong and if you figured out the correct coordinates so we can fix it. Thanks in advance.

We just recently got into Geocaching and it has been quite an experience! My girlfriend and I have been going around finding multiple ones each day, because it is a nice way to spend our free time and we definitely get some good exercise out of it! :) There have many clever geocaches that have inspired me to create my own.
One of my other interest is history, especially that during the Cold War. I spend much of my time reading books and watching documentaries on it. So one day I was sitting down trying to come up with an idea for our first geocache and of course, history came across my mind! I decided I would take a map of Cold War Europe and place a map of the city of Santa Clara over it, then mark where the capitals of Eastern European countries would be in comparison to the Santa Clara map. Where the two maps match, is the deciding factor in which we will place the geocaches. So in this series you can locate 9 geocaches.

Once the geocache has been created and published I will link them so you can easily move on to the other caches. This is a work in progress and I hope to complete it by the end of April. Also, I hope to move to western Europe. If you have anything that relates to any of these countries, please feel free to leave something behind. It'd be a nice way to get exposure to other cultures.
