The Okaya Junction(Okaya JCT) is in the connection point of Chuo Expressway and Nagano Expressway.
The Okaya Junction was completed to draw the expressway to the Nagano district in 1986. The road was constructed to the next Okaya Interchange at this time.
Okaya Viaduct in the middle won "Tanaka Prize" of Japan Society of Civil Engineers in the same year.
"Tanaka Prize" is given to an excellent achievement in the bridge and the steel structural engineering, and connected to the Dr. Tanaka who designed a lot of bridges laid in Sumidagawa after Great Kanto Earthquake.
Besides, the bridge where Tanaka Prize was won has Yokohama Bay Bridge, Rainbow Bridge, and Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line, etc.

岡谷ジャンクションは、中央自動車道と長野自動車道の接続点にあります。 岡谷ジャンクションは、長野方面へ高速道路を延伸するために、１９８６年に完成しました。
この際に道路は隣の岡谷インターチェンジまで建設されました。 中間にある「岡谷高架橋」は、コンクリート橋の新分野を開拓したことと、景観的に優れていることを認められて、同年の土木学会の「田中賞」を受賞しました。
「田中賞」は、橋梁・鋼構造工学における優れた業績に対して授与され、関東大震災の後、帝都復興院初代橋梁課長として隅田川に架かる多くの橋の設計をした田中豊博士にちなみます。 他に田中賞を受賞した橋梁は、横浜ベイブリッジ、レインボーブリッジ、東京湾アクアラインなどがあります。 キャッシュは、岡谷ジャンクション付近に設置しました。
