Geocache Description:

This cache is located at ground level. Sorry, the last few feet are unlikely to be accessible to wheelchair cachers. Please leave the cache suitably camouflaged.

This cache was created in partnership with BBC Sussex and South Downs National Park Authority as part of the BBC Summer of Wildlife 2013, to celebrate 30 years of BBC Sussex broadcasting across the county of Sussex and encourage more people to discover the wonderful landscapes and wildlife on their doorstep.
The cache includes three sets of goodies from both organisations for the first three finders.

The site for this cache was chosen, as it is in the South Downs National Park – an area of outstanding beauty and history that people are encouraged to explore.

Although the South Downs most popular locations are heavily visited, many people greatly value the sense of tranquillity and unspoilt places which give them a feeling of peace and space. In some areas the landscape seems to possess a timeless quality, largely lacking intrusive development and retaining areas of dark night skies.

Around this cache there are many interesting sites to explore and learn about Lewes’s history, culture and natural habitats.

From this cache you can also discover more caches. For example, the Woodcraft Walk Series between Lewes and Kingston.

Photographs:
Feel free to upload your photos of the local flora, fauna, and views near this cache or anywhere along your walks across the South Downs.

Goodies:
The cache was launched on the 9th Sept 2013 and was originally stocked with goodies donated by the BBC and the South Downs National Park Authority.
