First Saturday in May Traditional Cache
HazelBell: I came by to replace the wet log and not only is the cache gone, but the sign it was attached to is gone. So good bye to this one. Perhaps we'll be able to place a new one nearby in the future. Thanks for the notes and the assists. HB

The Kentucky Derby is run on the FIRST SATURDAY IN MAY at Churchhill Downs.
HazelBell, the race horse, is a Standardbred and is a retired Harness Race Horse. Mattie the Paint Horse used to race in Gymkhanas around the state. We thought this to be a fitting theme for a cache.
And what better day than Derby Day to hide a new horse related cache. Enjoy!
So put on your finest spring hat, sip a virtual Mint Julep, sing a rousing rendition of “My Old Kentucky Home" and enjoy the Derby.
A few definitions for the curious:
COLORS: a Thoroughbred is one of these colors (it may also have white markings): bay (yellow-tan to a bright auburn, with black mane, tail and lower portion of the legs); black; chestnut (red-yellow to golden-yellow); dark bay or brown (brown with areas of tan to a dark brown, with black mane, tail and lower parts of the legs); gray (mix of black and white hairs); roan (mix of red and white or brown and white hairs; or white (all hairs are white, very rare, but not albino).
DERBY: a stakes race for three-year-olds; the Kentucky Derby for example.
THOROUGHBRED: a breed of horse created in England in the early to mid 1700s, the only one bred solely for speed.
TRIPLE CROWN: a series of three races for three year old colts and fillies: the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness Stakes and the Belmont Stakes; run each year during May and June.
