À la découverte du Tursan
Pays aux racines historiques lointaines, le Tursan
se caractérise par son relief vallonné, principalement constitué
d’un plateau entaillé par des vallées. C’est un
territoire à vocation agricole affirmée. Si la production de maïs
constitue la majorité des surfaces cultivées, le Tursan est réputé
pour sa production viticole (VDQS). Les cultures associées à
l’élevage bovin et avicole façonnent un paysage en
marqueterie, ponctué par de nombreux bois et plans d’eau
destinés à l’irrigation. Des bourgs de caractère ajoutent au
charme de ce pays. Le Tursan a la particularité d’être
traversé, dans sa partie orientale par la plus célèbre voie de
Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle, la voie du Puy-en-Velay, par laquelle
les pèlerins affluèrent au Moyen Age et au XVIIIe siècle. Si vous
arpentez les sentiers de randonnée du Tursan, entre Pédousclaous et
Pouquéou, vous tomberez en arrêt devant ce petit havre de paix et

Discovering the Tursan
