The Barbados Railway Company Limited (BRCL) was incorporated in 1883. It was proposed to run from Bridgetown to Belleplaine, St. Andrew parish. In order to maintain a level grade to the station, turntable and yard, a number of trestles were used. This cache is one of the BRCL series.
Close to the roadway, you will see the remnants of numerous trestles, and an archway. At the archway you will find a sign marking the end of the railway line. In old photographs, it is possible to distinguish the approach over trestles and this arch in advance of arrival at the Belleplaine station. Carriages, engines and other rolling stock would be found on the sidings, or prepared for the return trip to Bridgetown by the turntable.
You are looking for the cache in an area just off the roadway, in an area that offers parking. It is not necessary to venture into the underbrush to find the cache. Be mindful of traffic as you approach or leave the parking area. You may have to climb up a mound to find the cache.
