Geocache Description:

A tupperware container with a very conspicuous yellow lid!!

This glen started out as a Pleasure Ground, which held tennis courts, bowling green, cafe, and boating lake. Though by the 1960's the glen attractions, which were owned and operated by the Railway Company, were closed and shortly after the railway bridge running over the glen was dismantled. By 1978, the glen moved into the control of the Manx Government, who sought to bring out the natural beauty of the area and move away from its former man made appeal. By the early 1980's the glen began to be used as a camp site and by the late 1990's even more facilities were added.

The Glen Wyllin holds a wooded valley called Cooildarry, which contains many mature headwoods. Here more exotic species of plant are also found. Ferns, horsetails, and mosses grow well in the moist shady conditions. There are also over fifty species of fungi. In the spring look out for bluebells, primroses and wild garlic, just to name a few. There is a children's playground and campsite also located in the glen.
