Geocache Description:

Located in a small area of sycamore trees just off the A941 Lossie to Elgin Road. Small cache with room for tiny swaps but there is no pen or pencil, so please bring your own.

This cache is owned by outdoor learning and adventure charity, Outfit Moray. Visit www.outfitmoray.com for more information on our work locally with vulnerable or disadvantaged young people, to hire outdoor equipment such as canoes or bikes or to book an adventure fun day for up to 8 people!

By Coxandclan: Whilst walking the boxer girls in these woods one day, we heard the sound of a woodpecker. We disappeared in amongst the trees to see if we could get a better look and came up with a lovely spot to hide a cache – hence the name! There is a lovely circular walk here, although some of it is impassable when the bracken is up. There are two other caches nearby: Spynie Quarry GC1VTDY and Easter Geocache GC1PY74.

Parking is available opposite Spynie Palace turn off or at N57 40.415 W003 18.634 (closer to Easter Geocache) Please take care when parking or crossing the road if you do Spynie Quarry cache. This is a fast road, so please take care of children and dogs!!
