We walked along the dusty trail with the wind raising dust
devils in front of us. As we approached a very twisty, pine that
looked like it had seen better days we could see that our path was
about to take a sharp bend. It now appeared that our path was going
to take us back to where we had started.
We were no longer in the forest but out in the open with just a
few struggling trees around us. Not too many places to hide a cache
out here.
But, there, just at the bend, overlooking the marshy pond to the
west was the twin of a pine we had seen just a little earlier on
the trail. It was covered in dozens and dozens of pine cones. This
seemed like an interesting tree to show off to people and so it
needed a cache nearby.
