Geocache Description:

ASPGB - Raccoon

In 2005, Allegany State park was only the greatest State Park in
the world. But the following year, a group of geocachers from near
and far decided to get together and assemble a geocaching event
that would one day be an event that folks would travel to from
miles around! Hundreds of miles around! States, countries, even
continents away! Imagine hundreds of people enjoying the same
hobby, gathering together in one of New Yorks finest
treasures....and treasure hunting while they are at it! The only
thing better than having a geocaching event would be lot of
geocaches!

These 5 caches along the bike path commemorate the first 5 years of
ASP Geobash history, represented by the mascot for each year.

The mascot for the second Geobash was a very curious and adorable raccoon! So think like a raccoon while looking for this cache, and soon you will have it in your paws!

All 5 caches are along the bike path and are reachable of course by bike. You can also walk. And of course, as the path intersects the main roads several times, you can park pretty close to most of them. But why not bring or rent a bike and enjoy the path and the beautiful views it has to offer? A raccoon certainly wouldn't drive to the cache!

This cache is not difficult at all. It is an ammo can with some goodies for the kids.

This cache has been placed with permission of the park and has Permit #ALL227
