La ville de Gaspé est surtout connue pour ses activités maritimes. Toutefois, à partir de 1830 et pendant près de 100 ans, plusieurs scieries y opéraient, dont la Moulin-des-Plourde. Une dizaine de personnes y travaillaient. Voici la troisième cache dédiée à ce secteur économique de Gaspé.
Le Moulin-des-Plourde est le seul moulin à vapeur de la Gaspésie. Il a été construit au début du siècle entre 1907 et 1909. Dès le début, il comprend une bardoiserie et un moulin à moudre le blé. En 1986, le moulin ferme ses portes après près de 80 années d'existence.
Apportez un crayon, la cache ne contient qu'un logbook.

The old sawmills of the city of Gaspé: the Moulin-des-Plourde
The town of Gaspé is best known for its maritime activities. However, from 1830 and for nearly 100 years, several mills were operating, including the Moulin-des-Plourde. A dozen people were working there. Here is the third cache dedicated to this sector of Gaspé.
Le Moulin-des-Plourde is the only steam mill in the Gaspé region. It was built early in the century between 1907 and 1909. From the beginning, it includes a bardoiserie and a mill to grind wheat. In 1986, the mill closed its doors after nearly 80 years of existence.
Bring a pen, the cache contains only a logbook.
