Geocache Description:

The Primitive Methodist Church erected on section 88 Hundred of Boucaut was used as a school for 63 years.

The Condowie South School was always a one teacher school, the highest enrolments being 38 in 1887 and 37 in 1899.This school opened before the Snowtown town school began. The school opened in September 1877( open 79 days that year) and continued without major interuption until the end of 1940.Condowie South School was used for dances and similar social functions.People went into Snowtown for major functions but generally people on Condowie Plains had to make their own fun.During the depression the cost of fuel restricted progress as well as very poor roads but by the end of the thirties this had began to change and thus the school closed its doors.
This is a very wet road in winter so please use common sense when approaching from either end.
